About
Google sells two Nest Doorbells. The Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd gen) records 2K HDR video with a 166° diagonal field of view and includes 6 hours of event video previews. The Nest Doorbell (battery) records 960p HDR video with a 145° diagonal field of view, includes 3 hours of event video history, and can run on its battery or on existing doorbell wires. Google says the battery model can be installed in minutes and calls it great for renters; the wired model must be connected to a doorbell transformer. Both have built-in intelligent alerts for people, packages, animals and vehicles, both need the Google Home app and a Google Account, and both work with Alexa as well as Google's Gemini for Home voice assistant.
As of October 2026 the Google Store lists each model at $199.99. Longer video history needs a Google Home Premium subscription: the Google Store lists Standard at $10/month with 30 days of event video history and Advanced at $20/month with 60 days.
