The August Wi-Fi Smart Lock fits over the inside of an existing single-cylinder deadbolt, so the outside of the door and your current keys stay the same. August says installation takes less than 10 minutes.
Wi-Fi is built into the lock, so it needs no separate bridge for remote access, guest keys and activity notifications in the August app. DoorSense, a small sensor, tells you whether the door is closed and locked. Auto-Lock locks the door once it is closed or after a set time of up to 30 minutes, and Auto-Unlock uses geofencing to unlock as you arrive. It works with Siri and HomeKit, and with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant over Wi-Fi.
