The Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium is the most feature-packed thermostat on the market, adding indoor air quality monitoring — CO2, VOC, humidity, and particulate tracking — on top of the scheduling and ecosystem integrations you would expect from a flagship device. The glass touchscreen is responsive and readable, and the built-in Alexa speaker lets you control music, lighting, and other devices right from the thermostat. The included SmartSensor sits in the rooms where you actually spend time — bedroom, living room — and feeds temperature data back so the thermostat heats or cools based on occupancy rather than just the hallway reading. This alone closes the hot-bedroom, cold-office gap that makes most thermostats frustrating. It works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, SmartThings, and IFTTT. A C-wire is required; if your system does not have one, Ecobee includes a Power Extender Kit in the box. Most homeowners complete installation in under 45 minutes.
