About
Announced at CES 2026, the Affirm Smart Deadbolt is Lockly's first lock with native Matter over Thread rather than a proprietary bridge, so it pairs directly with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings at the same time. A doorbell button is built into the housing itself, which lets visitors start a video call through Lockly's TapCom platform without a separate doorbell unit. It is IP65 rated, runs eight AA batteries for around eight months and has a USB-C port for emergency power.
Pros
- +Native Matter over Thread, no proprietary hub needed
- +Integrated doorbell removes a second device from the door
- +IP65 weather rating for exposed entrances
- +Around eight months on eight AA batteries
- +USB-C emergency power port
Cons
- −Availability slipped into the second quarter of 2026
- −TapCom video calling is a Lockly-specific platform, not Matter
- −Eight AA batteries is a bulky power arrangement
- −Limited independent review data so far
