About

The Blink Mini 2 is a compact plug-in smart security camera from Blink. It records up to 1080p (1920 x 1080) at up to 30 fps with a 143 degree diagonal field of view, and has two-way audio, an infrared LED for night vision and a built-in spotlight for night view in color. It is powered over USB-C, connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and does not need a Sync Module.

Out of the box it is set up for indoor use, with an indoor power adapter and indoor USB-C cable. Blink lists IP65 weather resistance only when it is paired with the Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter (sold separately). It can also act as a plug-in chime for a Blink Video Doorbell.

Price and availability (as of October 2026)

No price is listed here. We found no price for the Mini 2 on Blink's own site, and HomeGearLab does not quote reseller prices. On October 3, 2026, Blink's products page did not list the Mini 2. It listed the newer Mini 2K+ (starting at $49.99), which Blink calls its third-generation compact plug-in camera. The Mini 2 is still documented on Blink's support site, which says it is available to order from retailers in the US and Canada, so check a retailer for today's price and stock.

Setup and compatibility notes

Plug the camera in with the supplied USB cable and power adapter, then add it in the Blink app under Mini Cameras by scanning the QR code on the back of the camera. If you add it to an existing system, choose the same Wi-Fi network as your other Blink devices. The box includes a stand and 2 mounting screws, and the camera has one mounting point for walls and one for flat surfaces and ceilings (the app has a Flip Video setting for overhead mounting). Blink does not recommend placing it to view through a window or glass. Outdoor use requires the Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter, sold separately.

FAQ

Does the Blink Mini 2 need a Sync Module?
No. Blink says Mini 2 needs only USB power and an always-on Wi-Fi internet connection. It is compatible with a Sync Module, and adding it to a system with one allows shared scheduling and local storage.
Can the Blink Mini 2 record without a subscription?
Only with extra hardware. On a Sync Module 2 with a USB drive, or a Sync Module XR with a microSD card (all sold separately), it saves motion clips locally. With no plan and no Sync Module you get live view, motion alerts and two-way audio, but clips are not saved.
Can the Blink Mini 2 be used outdoors?
Yes, with the Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter, which is sold separately. Blink lists IP65 weather resistance with that adapter and an operating temperature of -5 to 113 degrees F.
Does the Blink Mini 2 have color night vision?
It has an infrared LED for night vision and a built-in spotlight that Blink says provides night view in color. Blink says the spotlight can turn on when motion is detected.
Is the Blink Mini 2 still sold?
We could not confirm that from Blink's own pages. On October 3, 2026 Blink's products page did not list the Mini 2 and listed the newer Mini 2K+ instead. Blink's support site still documents the Mini 2 and says it is available to order from retailers in the US and Canada. HomeGearLab does not quote reseller prices, so check a retailer for current price and stock.
What does a Blink plan add to the Mini 2?
Cloud storage for up to 60 days in the US, person detection and extended live view for up to 90 minutes. As of October 2026 Blink Basic covers one device for $3.99/mo or $39.99/yr.
