About
The Blink Outdoor 4 is Blink's fourth generation battery-powered outdoor camera. It records 1080p HD video at up to 30 fps with a 143 degree diagonal field of view, infrared night vision and two-way audio. Blink lists it as IP65 weather-resistant, with an operating range of -4 to 113 degrees F.
It runs on two AA 1.5V lithium batteries (non-rechargeable), which Blink says last up to 2 years with default settings. It needs a Blink Sync Module to connect to your home Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n) and works with every Blink Sync Module.
Price and availability (as of October 2026)
No price is listed here. We found no price for the Outdoor 4 camera on Blink's own site, and HomeGearLab does not quote reseller prices. On October 3, 2026, Blink's products page did not show the Outdoor 4 camera as a product with a price. It is named there only in the descriptions of the Sync Module XR, the Solaris Battery Pack and the Outdoor 4 Floodlight Camera (starting at $129.98). The same page lists the newer Outdoor 2K+, starting at $99.99. The Outdoor 4 is still documented on Blink's support site, which is where the specs below come from. Blink says the Sync Module it needs can be bought separately or as part of a camera bundle, so check a retailer for today's price and for which Sync Module is in the box.
What records, and where
- No plan and no storage: Live view, motion alerts and two-way audio. No motion clips are saved.
- No plan, with a Sync Module 2 and a USB drive, or a Sync Module XR and a microSD card: Motion clips saved locally and viewable in the Blink app. The drive or card must be 1 GB to 256 GB. When it is full, new recordings stop until you free up space.
- Blink plan (Basic is $3.99/mo or $39.99/yr for one device, as of October 2026): Cloud clips kept for up to 60 days in the US, plus person detection and photo capture. With a Sync Module 2 or XR and storage attached, cloud clips are also backed up locally once every 24 hours, and those backups can only be viewed on a computer.
The Sync Module Core does not support local storage or clip backup. Blink says it comes only in Outdoor 4 and Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) bundles and is not sold separately.

Set up a Blink Sync Module in the Blink app first (Sync Module Core, Sync Module 2, Sync Module XR or XR+), then add the camera by scanning the QR code inside its back cover. The box includes a mount, a right angle adapter and 2 screws, which Blink says cover wood or brick surfaces. - Can the Blink Outdoor 4 record without a subscription?
- Yes, but only with local storage hardware: a Sync Module 2 with a USB drive, or a Sync Module XR with a microSD card (1 GB to 256 GB). With no plan and no local storage you still get live view, motion alerts and two-way audio, but no clips are saved. The Sync Module Core does not support local storage.

- Blink lists it as IP65 weather-resistant, with an operating temperature of -4 to 113 degrees F. Blink says that if the port cover is removed the camera is no longer weather-resistant unless it is powered through its USB-C port with a weather resistant USB-C adapter, sold separately.
- Does the Blink Outdoor 4 work with Alexa?
- Yes. Blink lists Alexa and IFTTT for Outdoor 4. With Alexa you can watch live views on Echo Show devices, hear motion announcements, and arm and disarm your system.
