About

A fully wire-free outdoor camera with a magnetic mount, 2K QHD resolution and a claimed 300-day battery life, extendable indefinitely with the optional solar panel. Colour night vision, AI person, vehicle and pet detection and local microSD storage all work without a subscription, which is what makes it stand out at this price. Tapo Care cloud storage is optional rather than assumed.

Setup and compatibility notes

Setup runs through the Tapo app; no hub or bridge is needed since it connects directly over Wi-Fi. Recording needs either a microSD card (up to 512GB, sold separately) for local storage or a paid Tapo Care subscription for cloud storage, since there is no built-in storage. An optional solar panel accessory can keep the battery topped up outdoors.
